    1. A toddler, a young man, and a dogl beloved by their familiesl tragically lost on the same day, same hour, same minute. Two years later, their grieving families see their images in photographs that were taken after they died. What follows is a fascinating look at grief, the kind of loss that tears families apart, that leaves loved ones reeling. This story is poignant and compelling as we follow these characters on their heart-achy journeys; strangers whose lives twist and turn and intertwine.

    2. Joan Didion writes in The Year of Magical Thinking, "Grief turns out to be a place none of us know until we reach it." In her latest book, The After Glimpse, Wendy Paine Miller explores concepts of grief through the viewpoints of three grieving characters whose lives are each interrupted by a strange occurrence. No doubt you will find one or more characters you can specifically relate to. As a mom, I personally connected most with the grieving mother. I liked how Miller created characters who ar [...]

    3. This book grabbed me and wouldn't let go until I consumed it cover to cover! Wendy Paine Miller, like all masterful writers, hooks you into her story from the first page. I fell in love with each of her characters: their depth, anguish, and hope felt like home. I wanted answers for them as much as they hungered for them for themselves. Warning: "The After Glimpse" is one of those books you won't be able to put down, so be sure to have several hours to devote to it once you crack it open. I'm typ [...]

    4. This book will suck you in and not let you go. I finished it within 18 hours after starting it, not because I'm a fast reader, but because the story was just that good. Ms. Miller's writing is some of the best I've ever read. Her ability to weave together three separate lives was astounding. I felt the pain of each main character. I longed for them to find the closure and answers they needed as they processed the losses of loved ones. I sat fascinated as I watched their paths eventually cross. A [...]

    5. If you love stories with twists and turns and intertwining characters, then The After Glimpse is for you! The blurred lines between reality and perception are beautifully explored. Romance, loss, love, friendship, grief, acceptance -- there is something for everyone to connect to in this unique novel. The story offers an armchair romp around coastal New England, too, and will make you long for a coffeeshop/bar combo like Brews Stirs! *Cheers* to more stories from the creative mind of this talent [...]

    6. Definitely one of the best books I've read in a long time, and I read a lot! My criteria for excellent books are: great character development, good story line, satisfactory ending, and leaving me with something to think about. This book had all of them! Other reviewers have covered many of these things, but this author absolutely left me thinking about clouds (this is not a spoiler alert) which led to some fascinating pictorial research. Thank you, Ms. Miller!! Looking forward to your next book. [...]

    7. I love books that keep me guessing, and this one does until the end! Three seemingly random people are each doing their best to move forward with their lives a few years after experiencing tragic losses. But something strange is happening. Their deceased loved ones begin showing up in photos--taken after they died. No spoilers, but the way the story is woven draws you tighter and tighter into what's really going on. Part women's fiction, part magical realism with a splash of suspense--The After [...]
