    1. review of Paul Tabori's The Green Rain by tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE - October 27, 2017 When I was a kid, one of my favorite movies was The Boy with Green Hair (1948), ironically, I wd've witnessed it on a black & white TV. An online capsule description says this: "Peter (Dean Stockwell), an orphaned boy, is adopted by Gramp Frye (Pat O'Brien) after his parents are killed in Europe doing relief work. The boy feels safe with his new caretaker, but when he is taunted for being an orphan, he ge [...]

    2. The Green Rain by Paul Tabori tells of a man-made catastrophe affecting the whole Earth. Written in 1960, it takes place a few decades later, near the end of the 20th century, when a scientist who discovered chlorophylogen, a "hypothetical forerunner of chlorophyll," plans to seed the Moon with the substance, theorizing it will start a process leading to habitability and life on our dead satellite. But the rocket carrying the chlorophylogen fails, releasing the substance in Earth's upper atmosph [...]

    3. I thought this was one of the worst SF novels I had ever read. The cover sounded very intriguing. Deadly green rain from the sky! That sounds like a world-wide panic filled dilemma. But I found the charcaters to be dull and boring and the tale just seemed to drag.Luckily for me this edition only cost 35 cents at a used book store.

    4. Typically this is considered SF but it's not very realistic. A green rain occurs and turns people green, and this causes all kinds of havoc in race relations. It was enjoyable and kind of funny but not very realistic in how it portrayed the likely effects of the green rain.
