    2. italian cartoonist Gipi's artwork at first glance is sloppy and oversimplified, but his storytelling is immense and his loose rendering is perfect. the oversized print is a breath of fresh air from the size garage band was printed at. definitely a good start if you 're new to his work.

    3. Gipi is one of my favorites and this and 'Wish You Were Here No. 2" are my favorites of his: I'm pissed I'll probably never get to read his newer stuff unless I learn Italian or French.
