    1. This book is really excellent. My only, very minor, complaint is that the author suggests that people should be clean for exams; definitely don’t smell like BO, but I’d add the caveat that women should never douche before pelvic exams. A lot of women seem to think it’s necessary, but vaginal flora are crucial for diagnosis. The book starts with a story about a client who told the author that his abdominal scar was from an appendectomy. When he turned up with appendicitis symptoms, the doct [...]

    2. They gave these books to us at work in a meeting/talk. I am not among the target audience but it was a novel view of health care and human sexuality. I imagine this would be a good resource for patients with alternative sexual behaviors/lifestyles. No one should feel shame when asking their health care provider for help/advice. The short section on how to be openminded as a physician was also neat.

    3. This book was written and published at a time when information such as this was not widely available online. Some of the information may be outdated. It is still a handy introduction to the subject, something you could hand any doctor or family member. There are plently of places in this country and the world where this book would completely blow some doctor's mind.

    4. This is essential reading for caregivers and clients. If you are into BDSM, Leather, Polyamory, Swinging - anything "alt" in sexuality - this book can help you improve the quality of your health care.

    5. This slim volume is a must-read for any "sexually diverse" person who wants to learn how to advocate medically for him/her/hirself. It is also a must-read for all healthcare providers, whether or not they think they have sexually diverse clients. This is an important book.
